• Leave your mobile number with the sitter so they can always reach you in case of an emergency.
• If you are not reachable or have poor reception, leave the number of someone you trust to make decisions regarding your dog.
• Make arrangements in advance regarding any veterinary costs that the sitter may need to cover.

Veterinarian & insurance

• Always provide the sitter with the address and phone number of your veterinarian.
• If you have a pet health insurance policy, also provide the policy number and the name of the insurance company so the sitter may not need to cover the costs in some cases.
• Inform the sitter about any existing medical conditions and give clear instructions on administering any medications.
• All this information can also be left on your dog's profile on Petbnb.

Petbnb Guarantee

When is the insurance valid?

The purpose of the Petbnb guarantee is to provide compensation for medical costs incurred during pet sitting due to an accident. Nonetheless, pet sitting involves human effort, and dogs will be dogs. Moreover, accidents can happen unexpectedly. Therefore, Petbnb wants to contribute in case something goes wrong during the sitting.

What is covered?

• A traffic accident.
• A fracture occurs.
• Ingestion of foreign objects, toxic gases, or deliberately poisoned food.
• An encounter with another animal resulting in (bite) wounds.

What is not covered?

• Medical costs for treatments related to accidents affecting any joints, regardless of the type of injury and the location of the joint.
• Medical costs for treatments related to accidents that consist of (preventive) pest control.
• Household items, such as damage to furniture and objects (like coats, cars, bicycles, etc.).

My dog has damaged something

Unfortunately, we cannot offer contents insurance through Petbnb. This is because insurance companies often do not want to provide coverage for damage to property during pet sitting. This is due to the difficulty in verifying the condition of the property before the sitter began, which unfortunately leaves room for potential abuse. It is therefore important that you ensure you have the appropriate contents insurance. Check with your insurance company whether your policy covers damage caused by pets, and consider additional coverage if it does not. In the event of damage to the home, we ask both the sitter and the owner to resolve it together.
