Meet & greet
We always recommend scheduling a meet and greet with the sitter first. If you don't have a fixed date yet, use a fictitious day, but make sure to clearly mention this in your message to the sitter. If you're uncertain, continue searching for another sitter and withdraw your request. It's best to do a trial night before a longer vacation. This way, you'll see and hear how well your dog was taken care of. The same goes for sitters: this prevents you from looking after a pet you don't feel comfortable with.
The sitters
Before a sitter’s profile goes live on Petbnb, we review it for completeness. Sitters also undergo an online training. While reliability is an important question, it’s something we can’t fully guarantee. Therefore, it’s important to trust your own judgment. However, sitters are insured through Petbnb for claims related to negligent actions. You can find more information about our insurance here.
Paying through Petbnb
All bookings and payments are processed via Petbnb. This allows us to gather reliable feedback from other dog owners. You can read all these experiences on the sitter's listing, helping you choose a sitter with more confidence. Also, take note if the sitter has regular clients, as this is visible on their profile. Sitters who perform poorly are easily recognizable in this way. Of course, this doesn't mean that sitters without reviews are bad; new sitters often haven't had time to gather feedback yet.
Note: Sitters or owners who attempt to book outside of Petbnb will be immediately removed from the platform. This is essential to maintaining the high quality of pet care that we strive for.
