Create an account on Petbnb
To send a request, you need to be signed up on Petbnb. For more information, see: How do I make an account on Petbnb and read how to set up your pet profile.
Finding a sitter
Go to www.petbnb.nl, www.petbnb.be or open the Petbnb app (currently only available in the Netherlands). Select the service and date you would like to book. You will then see a list of available sitters, where you can read reviews and a short description of each. If you find a sitter you like, click on "contact with" to send your request. You can also write a personal message here.
Feel free to send requests to up to 5 different sitters. Requests can sometimes be declined, and it's also nice to have an extra sitter on hand for later.
Meet and greet
It’s always recommended to schedule a meet and greet with the sitter first. This way, you can ensure it's a good match. Only after a mutually successful introduction will the sitter accept the request, and you can proceed with the payment.
Payment
You pay prior to the sitting through iDEAL or PayPal. The sitting fee is temporarily held in a third-party account. On the first business day after the sitting, the fee is transferred to the sitter’s account. Pay attention to the payment deadline for owners, as it may vary per sitter but is usually at the latest the day before the sitting begins.
Please note: payment through Petbnb is mandatory
This ensures that reviews on Petbnb are reliable. It also helps us better reflect the quality of the sitters and reward good sitters with more visibility on Petbnb. Sitters who are booked and paid through Petbnb are, in certain cases, insured should something happen during the sitting. Please note: users who book and pay outside of Petbnb will be removed from the platform. If you'd like more info about this topic, you can read why all bookings must be paid through Petbnb.
Adjusting the price
The sitter can adjust the sitting fee before your request is accepted. This is useful if the sitter wants to offer you a discount or if the sitter can only sit for a higher fee than indicated on the listing, for example, if the dog requires extra care.
If you want to adjust the price after the request has been accepted, you should cancel the accepted request and send a new request to the sitter. The sitter can then adjust the price and accept the new request.
