Owners pay for pet-sitting in advance using iDEAL or PayPal. The payment is then securely held in a third-party account. On the first business day after the pet-sitting is completed, the payment is transferred to the pet sitter's account. For daycare, this transfer may take a few extra business days. As a sitter, you can set a payment deadline when you accept a booking, which by default is set to one day before the start of the pet-sitting.
Payments must be received through the platform.
Owners receive a payment link via email but can also pay using the button in Messenger. Payment through Petbnb is required. The more paid bookings and reviews you have on the platform, the lower your commission becomes, and the higher your visibility on Petbnb. This, in turn, increases your chances of future bookings. Pet sitters who are booked and paid through Petbnb are also insured in case anything happens during the pet-sitting. The commission allows us to fund customer service, perform technical work to improve the platform, and organize marketing initiatives to help sitters secure more bookings. Ultimately, this benefits you as a sitter as well. Unfortunately, we have to remove users from Petbnb if they accept payments outside the platform.
Modifying the price
As a sitter, you can adjust the pet-sitting fee before accepting the request. This is useful if you want to offer a discount or if the owner wants to book an additional day. Of course, this is always done in agreement with the owner. If you want to change the price after accepting a request, the owner must cancel the accepted booking and send a new request. The sitter can then adjust the price and accept the request. Click here for more details on how to change the price.
